The Mayor’s Youth Council is a citywide program in Boston designed to connect young residents with City government and give them a direct role in shaping decisions that affect their lives. The Council empowers youth to engage in civic leadership and community development by providing opportunities to collaborate with City officials, share their perspectives, and help develop solutions to challenges facing young people across Boston. In addition to fostering youth voice in government, the program helps participants build leadership skills, gain experience in public service, and better understand how local government works. Overall, the Mayor’s Youth Council reflects the City of Boston’s commitment to inclusive civic engagement and ensuring that young people play an active and influential role in the city’s future.
