The Boston Planning Department recently held a virtual public meeting to present draft concepts for improving safety and accessibility in Cleveland Circle, ahead of the MBTA’s planned Green Line track replacement project. Proposed improvements include enhanced pedestrian crossings, expanded public spaces, traffic island reconfigurations, and changes designed to improve safety for people walking, biking, and driving.
The meeting generated lively discussion, with residents expressing a range of opinions about balancing pedestrian and bicycle safety with traffic flow and vehicle access. City planners emphasized that the proposals are still in the early planning stages and that community feedback will help shape the final design.
