What an incredible turnout for The Big Gig at the Charles River Speedway! Brighton Main Streets was proud to sponsor this amazing event alongside The Brighton Bazaar and Allston Pudding for a weekend filled with outstanding local music, creative vendors, delicious food, cold drinks, and an unbeatable community atmosphere.

Hosted by @notchbrewing at the @charlesriverspeedway, The Big Gig brought together more than 100 vendors, local indie music acts, artists, food vendors, families, and community members for Boston’s first-ever Spring edition of this popular music festival and market. With free admission, live performances throughout the weekend, indoor and outdoor spaces, and a pet-friendly atmosphere, the event truly had something for everyone.

What better way to spend Memorial Day Weekend than listening to local Boston bands while exploring tables filled with creations from talented local vendors and artists? Events like this showcase the incredible creativity, energy, and small business spirit that make the Brighton community so special.

Visitors spent the weekend enjoying incredible performances from talented local musicians while browsing unique creations from artists and makers across the region. One featured creator was @thankyou_sean, the talented 2D artist behind this year’s event poster. Sean’s bold illustrations and graphic art added the perfect creative energy to the festival and quickly became a must-see stop for attendees exploring the market.

Another wonderful local vendor featured at the event was Tabby Cat Candles, selling hand-poured soy wax candles made in repurposed glassware and jars. Adding even more charm to the brand, every candle purchased supports Lance — the company’s feline CEO and muse — with another well-deserved head scritch.

The food and beverage lineup was equally impressive, with favorites including @bonetownburgers, @wanderlustglobalfood, @frios_southboston7, @tandoorandcurryonwheels, @dosmanoskitchen, @pizzaprojectboston, @linger.boston, @weitogopopup, and @the.koji.club helping keep everyone fueled throughout the weekend. Guests also enjoyed the unique “Sip ‘n Shop” experience courtesy of @notchbrewing while supporting local artists and small businesses.

This was the final Brighton Bazaar event until September, making the weekend even more special. Thank you to everyone who came out to support local music, artists, vendors, and small businesses and helped make The Big Gig such a memorable success. Brighton continues to shine as a destination for creativity, culture, and community, and events like this remind us just how vibrant and talented our local community truly is.
