Sweet Stuff: New England’s Confectionary History
December 9 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Faneuil Branch of the Boston Public Library
A chocolate mill opened along the Neponset River in the late 1700s, setting the stage for New England’s love affair with sweets.
Over the centuries, the region has become home to an extraordinary variety of baked, fried, dipped, sugared, and frozen confections.
Local Brighton author Susan Mara Bregman will share stories from her latest nonfiction book, New England Sweets: Doughnuts, Bonbons, and Whoopie Pies, about this sugary legacy – from Necco Wafers to whoopie pies.
Appropriate refreshments will be available to sample!
This event is sponsored by the Brighton-Allston Historical Society.
