Chef Pedro Alarcon is a Venezuelan-born chef whose culinary journey began in Caracas, where he developed a deep appreciation for the bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and traditions of Latin American cuisine. After immigrating to the United States, he settled in the Boston area and built a successful career as a chef, including work at Boston University, where he became known for combining traditional Latin flavors with modern culinary techniques.

Driven by a desire to share his heritage, Pedro founded La Casa de Pedro, a restaurant that introduced many local diners to authentic Venezuelan and Latin-inspired cuisine. The restaurant earned a loyal following and helped establish Pedro as a respected figure in the region’s food scene.

Today, Pedro continues his mission through Pedro’s Street, a vibrant food truck and catering business that brings authentic Venezuelan street food to festivals, corporate events, private parties, and community gatherings across Greater Boston and MetroWest. Known for favorites such as arepas, empanadas, tequeños, and other Latin specialties, Pedro’s Street combines traditional recipes with a festive, approachable experience that celebrates Latin culture and hospitality.

Local residents can now visit Pedro’s Street at its Brighton location near the IHOP on Soldiers Field Road, where the food truck is now open and serving its popular Venezuelan street food offerings. Through his restaurants, food truck, and catering services, Chef Pedro has spent decades sharing the flavors and traditions of Venezuela with New England while creating memorable dining experiences rooted in authenticity and community.

As our nation celebrates 250 years of American ind As our nation celebrates 250 years of American independence, Brighton Main Streets is proud to help tell the story of our own neighborhood’s role in the founding of our country. This week, members of Brighton Main Streets had the privilege of visiting the Massachusetts Historical Society, where we participated in a fascinating tour and lecture focused on 1776. Standing among one of the nation’s premier collections of Revolutionary-era documents—including the renowned Adams Papers—was both inspiring and educational. It reinforced the importance of preserving and sharing the stories that shaped our nation and our neighborhood. Our research is only the beginning.
We’re honored to have been awarded a Boston 250 Summer Programming and Marketing Grant from The Boston Foundation for our project, “Revolutionary Brighton: Discovering 250 Years of Community, Courage, and Change.” This funding will support a series of community programs, educational events, storytelling initiatives, walking tours, and partnerships that will bring Brighton’s rich Revolutionary history to life for residents and visitors of all ages. We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate 250 years of community, courage, and change.
