The annual Love Your Block event once again brought out the very best in the Allston-Brighton community. As Executive Director Kelly McGrath shared, more than 100 volunteers spread out across neighborhoods—from Lower Allston and North Brighton to Oak Square, Brighton Center, Rogers Park, and all the way to Cleveland Circle—working together to clean and care for the places we all call home. The energy and pride were unmistakable, with residents showing up in full force to make a visible impact.
Community groups joined in with equal enthusiasm. Members of the Allston-Brighton DSA spent the day cleaning the Commonwealth Avenue median, while others gathered afterward to connect and celebrate at Boston Public Living Room events. The Allston Brighton Health Collaborative also hosted a cleanup and social, adding to the day’s sense of connection. Meanwhile, Liz Breadon and her team doubled their impact by splitting efforts between Collins Park and McKinney Playground. The message was clear: when it comes to community pride, Allston-Brighton shows up—and every day can be a “Love Your Block” day.
