Learn to Skate & Learn to Play Hockey

Allston Brighton Youth Hockey’s Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs are now open for registration!

These Saturday morning programs are designed to help young skaters build confidence, develop skating skills, and learn the fundamentals of hockey in a fun, supportive environment.

Learn to Skate

Two 10-week sessions

  • Session 1: October 17 – December 19
  • Session 2: January 2 – March 6
  • Tuition: $250 per session
  • Birth Years: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022

Learn to Play Hockey

Full 20-week season

  • October 17 – March 6
  • No class: December 26
  • Tuition: $450 for the full season
  • Birth Years: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021

When

Saturday mornings, 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM

Where

Reilly Memorial Skating Rink at Cleveland Circle

Learn to Skate participants may transition to the Learn to Play Hockey program when instructors determine they are ready. Generally, skaters should be able to skate forward, skate backward, and stop. Participants are not required to transition and may remain in Learn to Skate for the season.

Required Equipment

Learn to Skate:

  • Own skates
  • HECC-approved hockey helmet

Learn to Play Hockey:

  • Own skates
  • HECC-approved hockey helmet
  • Full hockey pads
  • Hockey stick
  • Neck guard
