Kelly McGrath Honored with the Mr. Rymkus Award at the Rat City Arts Festival

We want to thank Rat City Arts Festival and Allston Village Main Streets for honoring our Executive Director, Kelly McGrath, with the Mr. Rymkus Award at last night’s Gallery & Gala at Zone 3!

The award has a unique piece of local history behind it. In 1917, Allston resident Mr. Rymkus won a city contest by collecting the most dead rats, earning a prize of $150. Today, the award recognizes individuals making a difference in addressing rodent issues in our neighborhoods.

Kelly was recognized for her ongoing work to help tackle the rodent challenges facing Allston and Brighton. This important effort would not be possible without the outstanding partnership of the environmental team at Boston Inspectional Services. We are incredibly grateful for their collaboration and look forward to continuing this work together to create cleaner, healthier neighborhoods.

Congratulations as well to former Allston Village Main Streets Executive Director Alex, the other award recipients, and all of the talented artists showcased during last night’s wonderful event at Zone 3. Thank you to Rat City Arts Festival and Allston Village Main Streets for a memorable evening celebrating community, creativity, and local impact!
