Starting and Growing a Business: The SPA Advantage
March 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Thinking About Starting a Business? Need Small Business Assistance?
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is here to help.
Join Shelly Gillis, Outreach and Marketing Specialist with the SBA’s Massachusetts District Office, to learn how SBA programs and services can support you in starting or growing your business.
This workshop will provide a better understanding of the many resources available to both prospective and current entrepreneurs looking to launch, expand, or strengthen their businesses.
Topics will include:
• Overview of the SBA – Learn about the mission and services of the U.S. Small Business Administration
• SBA Resource Partner Network – Discover how partners like Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE), Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC), and SCORE can support you through business training and one-on-one mentoring
• Access to Capital – Learn about SBA-backed loan programs
• Federal Government Contracting – Get guidance on becoming “procurement-ready” to market your products and services to the federal government
Federal contracting can be a very profitable market for small businesses, but getting started can be complex. The SBA and its resource partners can help determine if your business is ready by assessing:
• Marketability
• Structure and experience
• Systems and capacity
• Ability to find contracts
This is an in-person event.
