Allston-Brighton Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Community, Business, and Student Success

The Allston-Brighton Chamber of Commerce recently brought together local business owners, community leaders, residents, and students for its third annual dinner, celebrating the people and organizations that help make Allston-Brighton a vibrant and thriving neighborhood.

While Allston-Brighton is often defined by its student population and changing demographics, Chamber leaders highlighted the strong network of longtime residents, families, artists, businesses, and community organizations that continue to invest in the neighborhood’s future. The Chamber itself was formed three years ago through the merger of the historic Allston Board of Trade and Brighton Board of Trade, combining more than 150 years of community and business leadership.

The event welcomed approximately 100 attendees and featured the presentation of six $1,000 scholarships to local students. Several scholarships honored the legacies of community champions Bill Margolin and Max Lefkowicz, whose decades of service left a lasting impact on Allston-Brighton. Scholarship recipients were recognized for their academic achievements and commitment to their future educational goals.

The evening also celebrated outstanding local businesses and community contributors. Road to the Right Track received the Community Contributor of the Year Award for its dedication to serving the neighborhood. Charles River Speedway was honored as Member Business of the Year, while New Balance Development Group received the President’s Award. Ann Faldeta was recognized with the Chamber’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her longstanding contributions to the community.

In addition to recognizing business excellence, the event highlighted the important role arts, culture, and community organizations play in shaping Allston-Brighton’s identity. Representatives from Friends of Herter Park shared how the organization has expanded cultural programming along the Charles River, helping transform the park into a destination for music, theater, and community events that attract residents from across Greater Boston.

Brighton Main Streets is proud to be a member of the Allston-Brighton Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber provides valuable networking opportunities, advocacy, educational resources, and community events that support local businesses and strengthen the economic vitality of the district. Together, these partnerships help foster a thriving business community and reinforce the strong sense of connection that makes Allston-Brighton a special place to live, work, and visit.
