Healthy Kids Day – YMCA

As Executive Director of Brighton Main Streets, Kelly McGrath is pleased to share what a wonderful experience we had tabling at Healthy Kids Day at the Oak Square YMCA.

Healthy Kids Day, hosted annually by the YMCA of Greater Boston for more than 30 years, is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of families by encouraging children to stay active, connected, and engaged as they head into the summer months. The event offers free, fun, and educational activities designed to promote physical activity, healthy habits, nutrition, and continued learning—helping to address the well-known “summer slide” in both health and academics.

We are proud to partner with the YMCA and support this meaningful initiative at the Oak Square YMCA location in Brighton. As an organization committed to strengthening our local district, Brighton Main Streets believes deeply in creating and supporting opportunities that foster healthy lifestyles, family engagement, and a vibrant, welcoming neighborhood.

Events like Healthy Kids Day do more than provide resources and activities—they bring people together. They activate our public spaces, strengthen community ties, and help ensure Brighton continues to be a place where families feel connected and supported.

We were so grateful to meet and engage with so many residents throughout the day, and we look forward to continuing to build on this momentum with partners and neighbors across our community.
