Brighton resident Cameron Berry recently won the 2026 Jeopardy! Champions Wildcard tournament, earning a spot in the Tournament of Champions.
In the interview with Allstonia, Cameron talks about his long-time love of trivia, the winding road from the Jeopardy! online test to stepping behind the podium on national TV, and how he prepared by studying clue structure and game pacing. He also shares some local flavor, including favorite Brighton spots like the Brighton Branch Library, and reflects on what it meant to represent the Allston-Brighton community on such a big stage. It’s a great read that goes beyond the buzzer to give a real sense of Cameron’s life, interests, and connection to the neighborhood—check it out here:
Cameron first appeared in regular Jeopardy! play in March 2025 and later returned for the Champions Wildcard tournament, where his strong performance — including precise wagering and consistent correct responses — led to the championship and a six-figure prize plus a Tournament of Champions berth.
From the Executive Director of Brighton Main Streets: What a fantastic turnout for Cameron last night at the Jeopardy! watch party at Devlin’s Restaurant! The support and enthusiasm for Cameron and his success could probably be heard all the way in Oak Square. The “Cameron Chant” was amazing! A huge thank you to Elaine McCauley Meehan from the Allston-Brighton Health Collaborative—and a truly dedicated neighbor—who helped pull it all together. The never-ending smile on Cameron’s face and his willingness to share his journey with all of us is proof that we truly know how to support each other. We really do live in the best place to live, work, and play—and we can’t wait for the next round!
