We’re proud to celebrate Maria, music teacher at Edison Elementary School, on earning her National Board Certification — the highest voluntary credential available to educators. Earlier this month, she was recognized by the Boston School Committee alongside other outstanding Boston Public Schools educators for this incredible achievement.
National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification a teacher can earn. Through a rigorous, peer-reviewed process created by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, educators demonstrate deep content knowledge and measurable impact on student learning.
Maria’s achievement reflects her dedication to her students and highlights the powerful role of arts education in our schools.
“We would like to congratulate Maria, the music teacher at @edisonelementary_bps, on this amazing achievement,” said Kelly McGrath, Executive Director of Brighton Main Streets. “Our children deserve the very best, and we are grateful to Maria for her commitment and dedication. We thank Boston Public Schools and hope they continue to elevate the power of arts education in our schools.”
Thank you, Maria, for inspiring students through music every single day.
