Allston Brighton Youth Coalition Free open house Allston Brighton Youth Coalition

Free open house for teens to hear about the work of the AB Youth Coalition.

The Allston Brighton Youth Coalition works to engage, support, and empower young people in Allston-Brighton, with a strong emphasis on healthy decision-making, substance-use prevention, leadership, and youth voice. Its work grew from the Allston Brighton Substance Abuse Task Force’s community-based prevention efforts, bringing youth together with families, schools, service providers, and neighborhood partners to address issues affecting young people.

They have slots open for their program and teens earn stipends for their efforts and participation. They are doing some amazing things!

We had a full day of networking, advocacy, educati We had a full day of networking, advocacy, education and discussion. We started our day with attending the Mayor’s address to the business community and the @bostonchamber_ ! Lucky to be at the table with Greg from @bostonpolicyinstitute and Susan Tracy, local Brighton peep and President of the Strategy Group. Next up was our monthly Director’s lunch for @allstonbrightoncoc after a summer break. We then had a great walk with the @cityofboston @bosstreetscabinet and the small businesses on the Western Ave Corridor to discuss how we can collaborate and find solutions that work for all. We wrapped up the day at The Harvard Ed Portal with @kurtfaustin for Chapter 1 of The Playbook! Amazing panel to discuss nonprofits, fundraising and grants! We can’t wait for the next chapters. #brightonma #brightonmainstreets #supportsmall #nonprofitorganization #community
