The City of Boston wants to hear from the Allston-Brighton community about the future of the Jackson Mann site.
While there is strong community support for building a new Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) community center, the site is large enough to accommodate additional uses. The City is asking residents to help shape the future by completing a community survey.
Potential options for the site include:
- A new BCYF community center
- A school
- Market-rate housing
- Affordable housing
- Retail space
- Or another community-supported use
The City plans to determine, with community input, what additional uses should be included on the site by the end of this calendar year. If housing is selected, a separate public process will determine details such as affordability and ownership. If a new school is included, additional planning and funding through the Massachusetts School Building Authority will be required.
The survey is open through July 10, 2026.
