WBZ 1030 Radio recently produced an engaging video highlighting the brief history of Brighton. Brighton–Allston historian Charlie Vasiliades collaborated with WBZ reporter Jeromey Russ to help bring key moments of the neighborhood’s past to life.
According to Vasiliades, factors such as the locations of churches, the presence of cattle, and the development of bridges contributed to Little Cambridge eventually changing its name to Brighton and becoming part of the City of Boston. Viewers are encouraged to watch the video for a deeper look at these historical details.
In conjunction with the video, the Brighton–Allston Historical Society has released its 2026 calendar, featuring a collection of historical photographs. The image used in the WBZ video appears in the new calendar, which is now available for purchase. Proceeds support the Historical Society’s ongoing programs and activities.
