About Our Executive Director, Aidan:
Brighton Main Streets welcomed Aidan McDonough to the role of Executive Director on July 22, 2019.
“Ever since moving to Brighton, I really have been lucky to find so many opportunities that have helped me to call this community home, and it all started by becoming a volunteer of Brighton Main Streets. Getting to take on this role as Executive Director, and follow in the footsteps of those who have done such amazing work before me, is a humbling and exciting responsibility to take on.” said Aidan McDonough.
“As a young professional living in Cleveland Circle, I often find myself wondering in what ways are my demographic building community and more importantly how are they finding it. My personal goal while in this role is to help community members, especially young professionals, plug into the existing opportunities Brighton Main Streets offers its neighbors to get active within the neighborhood. What I love most about living in Brighton is having access to multiple modes of public transportation, how walkable our neighborhood is, and the numerous cafes and restaurants convenient for local eats and entertainment. Brighton has countless opportunities for people of all backgrounds to call this neighborhood home.”
Aidan graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication with a focus in Public & Professional Writing. Prior to taking on this role, Aidan worked as the Development Associate at the West Suburban YMCA in Newton and before that was the Community Development Associate at East End House in Cambridge. When he isn’t out volunteering, you can find Aidan throughout the neighborhood with his dog, Calvin, in tow.
“Getting the chance to continue the momentum my predecessor stirred but leave my mark on the neighborhood is an opportunity I will not take for granted.” Aidan will continue the regularly scheduled office hours for businesses to stop in and learn more about the services Brighton Main Streets can provide, this August.
